BE STRONG GOD IS WITH US ALL - Justin Bieber tell fans

Justin Bieber is still with his Beliebers. A day after his DUI arrest on Thursday, Jan. 23, the global pop star took to his Twitter to address concerned fans. "YOU ARE ALL WORTHY NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS," the 19-year-old "Heartbreaker" singer wrote.

Bieber then alluded to a Bible verse: "BE STRONG GOD IS WITH US ALL," he wrote. "MY BELIEBERS CHANGED MY LIFE> I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL."

As previously reported, Bieber was arrested early Thursday in Miami Beach for driving with an expired license and DUI. According to the police report obtained by Us Weekly, officials smelled "an odor of alcohol emanating from the driver's breath"; the arresting officer also said the teen cussed repeatedly as he resisted arrest.

Hours after his arrest, Bieber made a solemn appearance in court wearing an orange jumpsuit, where his bond was set at $2,500. After being released from jail, the teen sensation was photographed on the roof of his car waving at the crowd gathered outside.

"What more can they say," he said in the caption. Bieber, on his end, has addressed his scandals as part of growing up: "I'm young and I make mistakes. That's part of growing up," he told Us Weekly last March.

I mess up sometimes, but I learn from my mistakes." "I'm a good person and I have a big heart," he continued. "I love God, and I'm grateful for the blessings he has given me. I don't plan on wasting the opportunity.

At the same time, I'm young and I want to have fun. I don't think there is anything wrong with that."

Tope Alabi opens up What happened between Her and Ajanaku

The issue you had with the late Pastor Ajanaku, did you ever make up before he died?

On that issue, I would rather say no comment. When God is working in your life, anything can happen along the line. The Israelites faced turbulence and eventually got out of it. We need people who are spirit-filled to just fold their arms and watch what God will do.

Some people say you are happy he is no more…

God doesn’t like anybody who rejoices over a friend or enemy’s death. I cannot be an enemy of what God created.

2014 Budget: Aso Rock clinic’s VIP section gets more funds than two federal teaching hospitals

The VIP unit of the presidential hospital will receive N705 million, while an entire teaching hospital will get about N300 million for new projects. The federal government will this year pump more cash into constructing an elite wing of the presidential clinic in Abuja where only a few big and mighty will receive attention, a spending that dwarfs the total funds allocated by government for entire developmental projects of two federal university teaching hospitals.

Under the proposed 2014 budget laid to the National Assembly last December, the “Construction of a VIP Wing at the State House Clinic will cost N705 million.” That amount surpasses the government’s budgeted cost for the building of new wards (buildings), laboratories and all other developmental projects in two university teaching hospitals. Lawmaker approves bill making abortion easier in France

FRENCH Lawmakers have approved a controversial abortion bill that scraps a requirement for women to prove they are in distress to legally terminate a pregnancy. The measure approved late Tuesday is a part of a broader legislative package on gender equality and updates a 1975 law, named after former health minister Simone Veil who legalised abortion in her hardest political fight.

The measure -- in stark contrast to the Spanish government's recent decision to roll back a law allowing women to freely opt for abortion -- still has to be put to the vote before it passes into law. But it has created divisions in France, which although officially secular is a deeply Catholic country. Opinion within the opposition right is also split on the issues, with critics arguing that the new measure trivalises abortion.

The bill will allow women to obtain an abortion at up to 12 weeks into a pregnancy, and also punishes those who try to prevent a woman from going to places where she can receive information on terminating a pregnancy. The 1975 law stipulated they could only opt for abortion if they could prove that they were in "a situation of distress". However, the legislative battle is largely symbolic, given that France records around 220,000 abortions a year, and it is estimated that around one in three Frenchwomen undergoes the procedure in her lifetime.

The state health system began reimbursing abortion costs about a year ago. Government spokeswoman and Womens' Rights Minister Najat Vallaud-Belkacem told the National Assembly that "abortion is a right in itself and not something that is allowed subject to conditions". Jean-Louis Borloo, the leader of the centrist UDI party, said the new bill had "created an avoidable rift in our society and a source of tensions and divisions." Former prime minister Francois Fillon said Veil, in authoring the 1975 law, had wanted abortion to remain an "exception".

He said the changes amounted to a "moral and political fault." Thousands of people protested in Paris on Sunday, on the eve of the parliamentary debate on the abortion bill. The organisers, who included right-wing religious groups and anti-gay activists and associations, claimed 40,000 people had turned up but police put their number at some 16,000.

Despite the protest, the outcry and controversy has been far less and muted than over the controversy of legalising gay marriage, a campaign pledge of Socialist President Francois Hollande, which came into force in May last year. Hollande pursued with his plans to allow "Marriage for All" despite months of intense, and sometimes violent, protests and a huge backlash from the opposition right and the Catholic church.

The broader range of bills to be debated this week on gender equality include extending paternity leave to six months, banning beauty pageants for girls under 13 and higher fines for failing to achieve gender parity in business and politics. During the debate on the abortion bill, Social Affairs Minister Marisol Touraine attacked a Spanish plan to tighten abortion saying it was "an unprecedented regressive step that will take women back to the Stone Age".

Spain's conservative government, under pressure from the Catholic Church, last month said it would roll back a 2010 law allowing women to freely opt for abortion in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy. The legislation, yet to be passed by parliament, would allow abortion only in cases of rape or a threat to the physical or psychological health of the mother. ngrguardiannews

Anti-Gay Law: US threatens to sanction Nigeria

United States has threatened to withdraw HIV/AIDS and Anti-Malaria programmes in Nigeria over the outlawed homosexuality practice in the West African country. President Goodluck Jonathan had on January 7 this year signed into law the Same-Sex Prohibition Act.

James Entwistle, US Ambassador to Nigeria reiterated the position of his country yesterday. US, according to Mr Entwistle is worried about “the implications of the anti-same sex marriage law which seems to restrict the fundamental rights of a section of the Nigerian population.”

“The issue of same-sex marriage was very controversial all over the world, including within the United States where 17 states out of 50 had endorsed it, but others still reject its legality.

“The issue that we see and I am speaking as a friend of Nigeria is that as I read the bill, it looks to me that it puts significant restrictions on the freedoms of assembly and expression; in my opinion which applies especially in advanced democracies, once government begins to say something in these areas, freedom no longer applies.

It seems to me that this is a very worrisome precedent.” Practice of homosexuality is now a criminal offence which attracts 14 years imprisonment
