The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has alerted the nation that it may embark on an indefinite strike action, that will paralyse the entire medical services in the country, to press home its demands, come January 2014.
The association was not happy that despite its just called-off five-day warning strike action, the government was yet to attend to the agitation of its members.
The doctors however said they were putting off the industrial action, in the spirit of the Yuletide, but were quick to add that it was a warning to a total strike action, that will occur in the first month of the New Year, if their needs are not met.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, the President of the NMA, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, stated that the doctors’ body had on September 2, 2013 issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government in which the association highlighted several issues bordering on the health sector which include: Absence of a regulatory environment for practice in the healthcare sector, workplace situation, conditions of service and funding of healthcare in Nigeria.
The statement further reads: “It is most distressing to note that aside from the reconstitution and inauguration of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and other health regulatory councils, none of the other issues contained in the ultimatum were given the deserved attention”.
It added that: “In appreciation of the possible impact of withdrawal of services by medical and dental practitioners in Nigeria, the NMA shifted her ultimatum three times with four weeks apart, hoping and praying hard for government to reciprocally respond and address the issues brought before her with a note of finality”.
Some of the issues at stake are: “Serial injustices done to doctors, particularly during the harmonisation of salary structures in 1998/99 by the Federal Government and failure to correct fundamental errors in the existing salary structure for doctors.
“The gross failure of government to address the serial injustices done to doctors, has led to the unacceptable reduction in the income and allowances of doctors with each level of promotion gained by doctors.
This strange phenomenon unknown to labour laws has over time contributed significantly to the high level of brain drain of highly qualified Nigerian trained medical and dental practitioners to other countries where their services are better appreciated.
“More disheartening is the fact that, as we try to get government to redress the previous injustices, further attempts are made to create more injustices and escalate the crisis.”

I Wish I Could Marry All The Girls In The World - IK Ogbonna
Ik Ogbonna has a lot of price to pay for being such a handsome guy, recently there was an allegation that his recent trip to the US was to satisfy the sexual urge of his female customers as a gigolo and homosexual, a story the fair-skinned young man has rubbished, seven years ago, he was a no body, he moved to Lagos alone and had a very rough time.
He slept on the street sometimes, for like three years or so, he slept in cars and today, he is hot and famous… Ik Ogbonna fashion weakness is the fact that he could be regarded as metro sexual in looks especially because he is not confident in wearing anything that’s not fitted. He feels lost in clothes that are not cut to fit his body.
Apart from that he doesn’t think he doesn’t have any weakness… He revealed that he has a crush on Genevieve Nnaji… whenever she’s around he loses his guards…
He loves art and every tattoo on his body is related to the Bible verses he loves and that guide him. Sorry to all those who doesn’t like it, tattoos don’t define who you are like; they say read a book and know its content. Know the person, not the tattoos.
For the ladies, he loves everyone of you and he wishes he could marry all of you but since he can’t, he can only love and appreciate you, ladies.

Ibrahimovic to Enyeama: Get ready for me ahead of Sunday’s Ligue 1 clash
Paris Saint-Germain striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has warned Vincent Enyeama to be prepared to face the force of his attacking partnership with Edinson cavani, when PSG plays Lille on Sunday.
The Parisians are currently top of Ligue 1 and will play Lille, who are in third position this weekend.
The Swede admitted that he has been impressed with the form of the Nigerian goalkeeper, who went 11 consecutive top-flight games without letting in a goal.
Lille has also conceded six goals in 18 minutes, but Ibrahimovic was in bullish move ahead of the crunch tie at Parc de Princes. “I think it is a very important game,” the 32-year-old told reporters. “Lille have been very good so far.
Their goalkeeper Enyeama has produced some amazing games so far as well, but at the same time I have to say he has not played against Zlatan and Cavani. “It will be a big test for him and we will see what happens.
Cavani and me have scored a lot of goals so far and I am pretty sure we will still score goals. “We are playing at home but we know Lille have done a fantastic job and that the goalkeeper kept a clean sheet for 10 or 11 games in a row.
A statistic like that just makes it more exciting to play against Lille. It will be a good game for the supporters. “We have had a good season so far – in the league we have only lost the one game against Evian. Hopefully we will keep our focus and continue the strong results.” dailypost.com.ng

Breaking News: Kabiru Sokoto Sentenced To Life Imprisonment
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, has sentenced the alleged mastermind of the 2011 Christmas day bombing, which occurred in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State, Kabiru Umar also known
as Kabiru Sokoto to life imprisonment.
Aside the allegation that he trained over 500 men on how to manufacture and detonate improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the Federal Government said that he had prior knowledge that the sect planned to bomb the church on Christmas day but failed to disclose it to any law enforcement officer as soon as reasonably practicable.
He was said to have between 2007 and 2012, at Mabira Sokoto, Sokoto State, facilitated the commission of terrorist acts, including planting bombs at Police Headquarters and some government organisations in the state.
Though he was previously arrested by the Police in Abuja on January 14, 2012, he was, however, declared missing two days later.

I Am Shocked To Witness PDP’s Final Collapse – Gov Lamido
Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido who is one of the founding fathers of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday expressed shock and pain over what he described as the final collapse of his great party following the mass exodus it witnessed due to the crisis in the party.
He said it is unfortunate that PDP has lost control in the House of Representatives for the first time since the return of democracy in Nigeria in 1999.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Director of Press Affairs to the governor, Mallam Umar Kiyari and made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Dutse. Gov Lamido blamed those he described in the past as tenants and polio viruses in the party for being responsible for the woes of the party due to their desperate moves to control the party through impunity and abuse of democratic tenets.
“We are today witnessing what appears to be the final collapse of our dear party the PDP under the inept NWC led by Bamanga Tukur. “I am short of words to express my pain. It is agonising to see the party built in every home, in every village, town and city all over Nigeria with lots of sacrifice being destroyed”.
The governor added that Nigeria’s democracy must not be allowed to be truncated by the activities of those opposed to the rule of law, justice, fairness and democracy. (leadership.ng)

Why Miley Cyrus sticks her tongue out in pictures
Miley Cyrus admits she sticks her tongue out in pictures because she doesn't ''know how to smile'' and it makes her feel ''awkward'' if she's standing there grinning.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old singer, who has hit the headlines this year for her provocative music videos and controversial performances, admits she doesn't search herself on the internet any more because the negative comments ruin her happiness. National Conference: make committee report public - Afenifere tells Jonathan
The Afenifere Renewal Group, ARG, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to make public the recommendations of the Presidential Committee on National Dialogue, which was submitted on Wednesday.
In a press statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Kunle Famoriyo, Thursday, the group said making the report a public document was the only way President Jonathan’s wish to convoke the conference could continue to enjoy the support of Nigerians.
“Nigerians have supported the call for the conference and participated fully in the public sessions. Many travelled far distances to participate in the conference.
One of them was the late Babarinde Omojola, who never returned home but died after making his presentation in Akure,” the statement said. “The only way to respect and honour the sacrifices Nigerians made towards the successful completion of the committee’s task is to publicise the report.”
The Yoruba socio-political group said that it would not be rail-roaded into a national conference whose modalities and terms were skewed against the interest of its people. “Certainly, we will only support the proposed conference for as long as it is transparently planned,” the group continued in the statement. “Our demand is to see Nigeria restructured into a truly federalist country with viable and autonomous federating units.
We are convinced this is what majority of Nigerians want, as our wide consultations have shown.” The group also said that the conference, when finally convoked, would succeed and produce the desired outcome only if it was a conference of Nigerian ethnic nationalities.
“We therefore plead with President Jonathan not to put the cart before the horse as he did when he announced that he has instructed the Minister of Finance to make budgetary preparation for the conference. It is good to make financial preparation for the conference but we insist that the first thing to do after the submission of the report is to make its content public.
“The group also noted that the outcome of the proposed conference would either make or mar Mr. Jonathan’s tenure. premiumtimesng.com

World's Top 10 Countries with Sexiest Women
Why are there so many Brazilian supermodels? Because they have the genes for it. Brazilians are probably the most ethnically mixed people in the world, so combining different shades and shapes creates the most perfect of bodies.
And they work on them too, since they live at the beach in Rio or flaunt themselves at the trendiest bars in fashion-obsessed São Paulo.
Go to any fashion show around the world or open a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, and you're guaranteed to find a Brazilian girl.
2 | RUSSIA After Brazil, Russia is probably the country with the most beautiful women per square mile. You'll find female eye candy on the Moscow subway, but also throughout the most remote corners of Siberia, where supermodel Irina Shayk was discovered. Female beauty is part of the Russian landscape.
3 | SLOVAKIA Men who prefer tall blonde blue-eyed women automatically think Sweden, but the most gorgeous blondes are actually in Slovakia! Many women around the world spend fortunes to look like what comes naturally to Slovakian women, and these girls don't have to work very hard to draw your attention.
4 | SWEDEN Although Slovakians beat Swedes in the hottest blondes category, there's no denying that Swedish women do fit the stereotype of beautiful women. That's why they won the first two Miss World titles ever, and their beauty is not just on the outside. Talk to any woman in Stockholm and you'll find that they're also well-educated and sophisticated.
5 | VENEZUELA Venezuela has the most beauty pageant winners in the world (Miss World and Miss Universe) and that's because beauty is the country's biggest obsession. When not blessed by nature, women are sculpted by surgery, a major local industry. Female beauty is said to be the biggest source of national pride and even national identity, so that explains why they're the women who spend the largest portion of their income on beauty. And while the capital Caracas is an unattractive city, that's easily overlooked when eyes concentrate solely on the young women on the streets.
6 | COLOMBIA They don't all look like Sofia Vergara but many do come close. Colombian women are proud of their curves and work hard to show them off.
They're also highly seductive (and often irresistible), so if you don't want to fall into temptation, try to contain yourself if you ever go on a trip to Bogota.
7 | UKRAINE Why do so many men around the world look for Ukrainian brides? The reasons are well known and discussed, but above all, it's because well-dressed women who take care of their bodies while keeping a seductive charm is quite attractive. Walk around Kiev and you'll see why they get so much attention.
8 | LEBANON
Most people will agree that Lebanon has the most beautiful women in the Middle East and Arab world. And everyone really noticed that through a controversial 2006 photo of affluent Lebanese women riding through a war-torn neighborhood in Beirut.
It showed that the young sun-tanned women of this country are strong and keep the glamour no matter what. A visit to the Lebanese capital will surprise for the vibrant and fun-loving attitude of its people.
9 | ANGOLA
The most beautiful African women are from Angola. The country is one of only two sub-Saharan nations to have a black Miss Universe winner, and its models are now showing up on the international runways (like Sharam Diniz who's one of Victoria Secret's angels).
Because of that international success, young girls in Luanda constantly compete in local pageants and for the attention of model agencies, and it's in the capital that you'll see the African beauties getting male attention, at the recent trendy (and expensive!) bars and restaurants.
10 | USA The USA has a reputation as the most obese nation in the world, and in such a diverse country there really isn't a particular type of woman.
But America is also obsessed with weight loss and beauty-enhancement products and procedures, and some cities do stand out for their ratio of hot women. Natural or naturally fake, the bodies you often see in Miami and Los Angeles are flawless, and women make sure they flaunt them. Which nationalities do you think are sexiest?
Miley Cyrus wants you to free your nipples
It’s not exactly big news when Miley Cyrus, who spent the better part of 2013 in a state of undress, flashes a little skin. But when she did so this weekend with a holiday-themed message to fans, it was to get attention for something other than herself for a change.
In an image from a weekend tweet, the singer’s tongue is in usual full thrust position, while her top is defiantly lifted. Her breasts, however, are modestly covered blocked by hearts that read “Merry Christmas.” And the message is one perhaps puzzling to fans: “THANK YOU NY for being one of the few states to @freethenipple.”
As director Lina Esco explained in an essay earlier this month, her film “Free the Nipple” is about her quest to change “backward censorship laws that force police to arrest women for the most basic human right, to breastfeed your child in public or to be topless on a beach.” And, she points out, women are routinely harassed and arrested even in the 23 states in which it’s perfectly legal for them to be shirtless. She says her film is currently facing a distribution stonewall because “lawyers tell us FREE THE NIPPLE is facing an NC-17 rating, which is considered ‘pornography.’”
I must admit that I remain in favor of a nation in which more people, not fewer, wear shirts. Haven’t 25 years of watching “Cops” taught us that there’s got to be a correlation between poor decision making and not having a sweater? And women — who hear accusations that they’re “asking for it” when they’re walking around in the world fully clothed — face particular issues of safety when they dare to go bare.
In 2010, when a group of topless women took to the streets of Portland, Maine — where such action doesn’t violate public nudity laws — they were greeted by “several hundred boisterous and mostly male onlookers, many of them carrying cameras.” Last spring, I witnessed a group of shirtless women in New York City’s Union Square Park, and from the creepy frenzy of picture takers and gawkers around them, you’d have thought a unicorn was wandering down the street.
But concerns aside, the message of Esco and her team is a vital one – that we are a culture that has a toxic obsession with breasts, and crazily enough, nipples in particular. (See also: the insane hypocrisy over pubic hair: A glimpse of it is somehow deemed indecent, while shaved and waxed bikini areas are just fine.) Earlier this fall, a breast-feeding Missouri woman was hit with a court order for bringing her baby to jury duty. Last month, the New York Times showed a partial image of a breast on its cover – for a story about breast cancer – and the mainstream media had a headline meltdown that the Times had exposed a nipple. The Huffington Post has an entire vertical devoted to Anne Hathaway’s nipples alone. Anne. Hathaway’s. alone.
In contrast, as of Monday morning, Free the Nipple was saying its Facebook account had been suspended, on the grounds they “repeatedly posted things that violate our terms.” Ah yes, the same Facebook that lets parents brag post photos of their children’s turds with impunity, and has a considerably less-than-stellar track record when it comes to images of violence. When Miley Cyrus lifts up her shirt, or a group of protesters charge through the streets of New York, yeah, it’s a stunt.
But it’s also a statement that we need to work a lot harder to build a culture in which a woman feeding her baby, or sitting on a beach, or caught in a breeze with an errant shirt button, is safe from shaming and harassment. One in which shirtless men get billboards in Times Square but shirtless women are labeled indecent and pornographic.
And changing a culture in which on-screen violence is cheered but on-screen breasts are censored is a fight worth having. Free the nipples, and your mind will follow. salon.com

Asuu Update: ASUU Calls Off Industrial Action [UPDATED, PHOTOS + VIDEO]
The President of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU), Dr. Nasir Fagge, explained about the decision to suspend 5-month industrial action.
The ASUU leader also held a press conference in Minna, after the marathon National Executive Council meeting was over at about 12.50 a.m. on December 17, 2013, Tuesday. In attendance at the meeting were all the ASUU branch chairmen and secretaries, the national executive members of the body, coordinators and past leaders, including 56 members from 52 universities.
The decision should take effect starting from today. Another confirmation came from ASUU Chairman, University of Lagos Chapter, Dr. Karo Ogbinaka, who also confirmed in an interview to Channels Television that the union decided to suspend the strike. Dr. Ogbinaka said that, in line with procedures, the different chapters of ASUU would hold congress meetings on Wednesday to inform members and managements of the institutions of the latest development.
“We expect the students to resume and expect their members to go back to class immediately after the congress meeting and we expect the government to keep to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU),” he stated. It would be noted that the decision to end the protracted industrial action was taken after ASUU signed a new agreement with the Federal Government on December 11, 2013 (see the official document below).

ASUU strike: Top 5 losers and gainers
No doubt that the strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) has been a nationalistic fight to finish, it came at a loss to the country. This is as voted by students, the top 5 losers of the ASUU strike:
1. Students- Aside being academically dormant for over 5months, thus raising the fear of mass failure during exams expected to be rushed within the months of January to February next year, while some have lost their lives or dignity indulging in one criminal activity or another, others are growing lean wondering how to tackle their house rents at school, that have most likely expired, with the academic year uncompleted. The strike will also delay these current finalists from making the February/March NYSC batch, pushing them to June and November.
2. Campus Businesses- Even here at Abia State University, the standard of living of the canteen operators have dropped. So also have times become rough for the motorcycle riders, photocopy shops, photographers, other businesses and even churches on campus.
3. Lecturers- Most of them were financially stranded by september when their nursery, primary and secondary school children had to return to school with no money for fees, uniform and books, owing to no salary and no proceeds from sale of textbooks and handouts.
4. Federal Government- The ultimatum that didn’t work showed how weak the FG is and set a bad precedent for other unions to follow.
5. President Goodluck Jonathan- This charade was bad for his political ambition of vying for second term, as well as for his political party PDP presidentially.
The top 5 gainers however were:
1. Newspapers- Most newspapers especially those online enjoyed an influx of new customers reading updates on ASUU strike.
2. Vice Chancellors- They sat and watch ASUU struggle to make huge sums available to them to improve their various varsities. Some of these funds will be diverted for personal use of course.
3. Facebook- There was an increase in the use of facebook by Nigerian Public University students this period.
4. Lecturers- They are to be paid for not working, not being stresses, and shall enjoy earned allowances most of them probably lost hope of getting, or didn’t know they were entitled to earn.
5. Hostel/Lodge Landlords- They will earn payment for emergency periods of learning. The quest to retain one’s room for the rest of the semester or session ie. January to whenever, might force some to pay for a year they may not complete in that lodge.
Going through the above, it is clear that the strike had more negative consequences than positive. Economically, Nigeria was at loss for this strike. It is thus the hope of every Nigerian university student, that the ASUU strike ends this week as anticipated, so that we can return to learning by 6th January, uncomfortably but necessarily.

Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan has stripped off to her smalls for a revealing shoot for Now magazine. The lass - who is famous for her FF chest - posed naked in just a black thong for the publication, while also addressing her boob job that went wrong.
She explained: "A year and a half ago I noticed they were suddenly looking really saggy and in completely the wrong place. My nipples were pointing to the floor. I had the boobs of a 90-year-old woman - I've seen grannies with better boobs than I had!
"I was disgusted. I never took my bra off. My boobs looked like udders and I could grab the implant with my fingers."
Holly continued: "I remember being in the shower and because there was so much saggy skin the implant could move around. It was flipping inside of me and turned back to front. It was scary. I was like, 'What the hell's happened?'"
"I was so ashamed of my body and became depressed. I showed my boobs to Charlotte [Crosby her Geordie Shore co-star] but I couldn't confide in anyone else.
"I wouldn't even let my mum see them because I felt so ashamed. I felt under pressure to look nice and instead I was wearing padded bras to lift my boobs and try to make them look better."
The 21-year old went on to add that the announcement of the sixth series of Geordie Shore being shot in Australia forced her to make changes to her body. "When I found out the next series was being filmed in Australia and I'd have to wear a bikini. I should have been excited, but I just thought, 'I can't go because I'll feel uncomfortable'. So I decided to have them re-done first."
"If I hadn't absolutely needed them doing again I wouldn't have had them done. I won't go through that pain again, ever."
Hagan added: "I can wear what I want and I won't be too shy to talk to boys in case I have to get my boobs out!"
