Egyptian government said on Tuesday in Cairo that ousted President Mohamed Morsi would go on trial on Feb. 16 over charges of espionage.
Xinhua reports that Mosi would be charged along with 35 others, including Muslim Brotherhood supreme guide, Mohamed Badei and his two deputies, Khairat al-Shater and Mahmoud Ezzat, and a former parliament speaker Saad al-Katatni.
The government said they are accused of collaborating with foreign bodies, including the Islamist Hamas Movement to carry out terrorist acts in Egypt.
It said that beside charges related to inciting violence and murdering protesters outside the Presidential Palace in early December 2012, Morsi would also be tried over jail break and insulting the judiciary.
