A prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos
State, Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku has dismissed insinuations that
he is leaving the party for the PDP.
He said he has no such plan even as he denied that former governor of the state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is seriously ill.
Odunmbaku who has been on medical vacation abroad returned to the state on Wednesday.
Speaking
at a press conference yesterday, the APC leader said he spent the last
two days with Tinubu in London where “he’s doing well, hale and hearty.”
He
said, “I would like you to know that I spent the last two days with our
indefatigable and revered leader,
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the
Jagaban of Africa
in London. He is hale and hearty and very fit. He will soon be among
us. We discussed on how to fashion out some strategies about how our
party can excel in the coming general elections.”
Debunking
the rumour that he had parted ways with Tinubu and the governor of
Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the deputy state chairman of APC declared
at the press conference attended by several party faithful, that the
rumour was an outright figment of the imagination of those looking for
the downfall of APC. leadership
