The minister of communication technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson, has said that the Broadband Awareness Campaign was initiated by the Broadband Council because high-speed internet access has the capability to boost the economic and social life of every Nigerian.
She made the remark in Lagos at the soft launch of the awareness campaign with the slogan: ‘Connected Nigeria, Connected Nigerians.’
Johnson, in a keynote address, said that the Broadband Council is charged with the responsibility of working on implementation modalities for the approved Nigerian National Broadband Plan 2013- 2018 launched the awareness campaign to communicate the transformational benefits of broadband to all Nigerians and to encourage its use and adoption.
The minister who is also the chairman of the Broadband Council told stakeholders that the campaign will raise an awareness of the transformational benefits of broadband and will disseminate information on the benefits of broadband. (leadership)
