Pedestrian killed as Luas and car crash

A woman in her 30s has been killed in a Dublin city centre collision involving a Luas tram and a car.
The pedestrian was struck by a car during the incident at the junction of Jervis Street and Abbey Street Upper at 8.45am, a Garda spokesman said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road is closed and the Luas red line is closed between Smithfield and Connolly.
GardaĆ­ are investigating and forensic collision specialists are due to carry out an examination of the area.  (irishtimes)
