Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide, yesterday in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, clarified her stand on current development in her party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that nothing would ever force her to abandon the party.
The Minister, who made the declaration through a press statement she personally signed, declared “I will never, ever leave the PDP.”
She also maintained that she remains the arrowhead of the party in Oyo State “as the minister in an opposition state.”
She said, “In view of speculations rife in the press, I wish to state categorically that I will never, ever, leave the PDP. The Akinjide dynasty is loyal to the PDP and loyal to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
“I am and remain, proudly PDP.
My father, Chief Richard Akinjide (SAN) is a founding member of the PDP and member of the PDP BOT. I’m the arrowhead of the PDP in Oyo State as the minister in an opposition state.
I will continue to work had to ensure the success of Mr. President, the transformation agenda of the Federal Government, and the victory of PDP in the 2015 elections.
“I call on well meaning and patriotic Nigerians to continue to support President Jonathan and ignore the ‘noise’ and ‘chatter’ being generated by those who, frankly, should know better, but, who understandably, are more at leisure than the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.” mydailynewswatchng.com
