I loose my Job Because of Obasanjo, Yar'Adua, Says Gambo Jimeta

Delegate to the ongoing National Conference and former Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Gambo Jimeta, narrated yesterday how he lost his top police job on account of his pleas for the release of General Olusegun Obasanjo (rtd.) and late General Musa Yar'Adua (rtd.) from detention under the Sani Abacha regime.
He recalled that his intervention at that time was in the interest of the nation, however, regretted that he became another casualty of that regime as he was eventually forced to go on self-exile on account of persecutions by the Abacha regime.
Besides Obasanjo and Yar'Adua, Gambo said he also pleaded for four other unnamed persons incar-cerated by that regime.
Jimeta spoke during the inaugural sitting of the National Conference Committee on National Security, which he chairs.
He recalled that his untimely exit from service and subsequent witch-hunt by his employer left him with no alternative than to reluctantly seek exile for nine months at the expense of the wife, children and family members he left behind.
