Congress, APC cannot win a polling unit in the 2015 general elections;
DAILY POST reported.
Governor Orji made the statement while reacting to claims by Imo state
Governor Rochas Okorocha that the All Progressives Congress, APC would
soon take over Abia. Speaking via his his Chief Press Secretary, Mr.
Charles Ajunwa, Governor Orji said, "Imo people are still regretting
their mistake of 2011 when he was voted into power under false pretense
of being a political messiah which he has yet to prove".
"Your rescue mission has failed to rescue Imo and how do you think you
can deceive Abians with your political rhetoric and gimmicks? People are
now wiser, your tricks in 2011 cannot work for you again. Stop
deceiving yourself because South-east has no space for you and your APC
in 2015″.
"Stop wasting Imo resources on his imaginary Vice-Presidential ambition
but instead deploy them on projects that will benefit the ordinary man
as exemplified in AbiA", Orji charged Okorocha.

Osun APC: ‘Omisore Lost Fair And Square’
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress
(APC) has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in
Saturday’s governorship poll, Senator Iyiola Omisore, lost “fairly”.
The party was reacting to Omisore’s remarks that his defeat to Rauf Aregbesola of APC was due to the damage done to him and his party by the former Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Rufus Akeju.
Omisore said: “We had a situation where a clearly partisan REC had opened the entire electoral system to our opponent from the registration stage through data storage to personnel loading… Before he left, he did a lot of harm in the system that would take years to rectify”.
But in a statement yesterday by its Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Kunle Oyatomi, APC said: “To accuse the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Akeju, especially, is the hallmark of a man in delusional stupor. He has not been able to climb down from his high horse of living a lie.

Aregbesola Exposes How PDP Rigged Ekiti Election
He stated that there are strong suspicions that the PDP used scientific rigging in Ekiti by using suspected electronic ballot papers with a rigging device and therefore educated people on how to prevent such trend in Osun.
Aregbesola stated this at the final mega rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Osogbo City Stadium in Osogbo, the state capital on Tuesday.”
He said: “If it is true or not, God has exposed how they rigged Ekiti election, and the secret is very simple. What to do is that when you touch the ink, ensure that the ink is not in excess and exercise patience before you thumbprint the space, which has the symbol of a broom and also allow it to dry before putting it inside the box.
“For those of you who are literate enough, write down the serial number of the ballot paper and use your phone to take its picture. This is a top secret, as I am saying it, they are getting shocked that the secret has been exposed.

Rauf Aregbesola on Wednesday evening said should anything happen to any
member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun ahead of the
August 9 election, the Minister of State, Defence, Mr. Musiliu
Obanikoro, should be held responsible.
The governor, at the launch of the students’ smart identity card at Salvation Army Middle School in Alekuwodo noted that it is on good authority that Obanikoro in conjunction with the Police Affairs Minister, Mr. Jelil Adesiyan have instructed security personnel to shoot and kill two of APC members.
He charged security agents to play by the rules, saying with what happened at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park Monday morning, where people who were supposed to campaign for APC were turned back by security agents while same security agents allowed People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign in Alekuwodo in Osogbo.
Aregbesola questioned what Musiliu Obanikoro is doing in Osun; noting that members of APC have been told to be law-abiding but with the recent provocation, people when pushed to the wall will react.
He said, “How could a party like the PDP be this desperate, Obanikoro with Jelili Adesiyan told the security agents that by the time two members of the APC are shot at and killed by the police, other members will learn from it, and with that the stiff resistance of APC will be destroyed.

PDP, APC guilty of ‘stomach infrastructure’ in Osun, Says Socialist Party
The Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) has accused the frontrunners in
the 9 August governorship election in Osun state of ‘stomach
infrastructure’ type of campaign.
The party claims that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are inducing voters with money, rice, milk and kerosene, a phenomenon known in Nigeria as ‘stomach infrastructure’.
“This ridiculous act of inducing poor voters with basic things like rice, milk, kerosene, etc, now referred to as Stomach Infrastructure has again underscored the low level governance in this country,” SPN said in a statement signed by Alfred Adegoke Kola Ibrahim, the party’s secretary in Osun.
SPN said it was worried that the two main parties associated with “this unwholesome act – APC and PDP – are both ruling political parties at the state and federal levels.”
“These same political parties have introduced anti-poor policies that deny the same mass of people the right to better living conditions without depending on handouts from politicians.

Why Difficult To Unseat Amaechi — Aide
Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi’s Chief of Staff, Tony Okocha, has guaranteed that the governor would complete his tenure despite alleged plot by six members of the State House of Assembly to unseat him.
Mr. Okocha said for as long as Rivers people remained behind the governor, resolute in defending the mandate they gave him, it would be impossible to oust him.
He also said the All Progressives Congress, APC, would win the 2015 governorship election.
Mr. Okocha stated this when he played host to the APC Youth League, Rivers State Chapter and Igbo Professionals in Rivers State who paid him a solidarity visit in his office in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Wednesday.
There are alleged moves by some politicians in Abuja to instigate six lawmakers led by Evans Bipi to impeach Mr. Amaechi following the successful removal of his Adamawa State counterpart, Murtala Nyako from office on Tuesday.
Mr. Amaechi, just like Mr. Nyako, is a member of the APC.
Mr. Okocha vowed that what happened in the north-eastern state would not be repeated in Rivers State as the majority of lawmakers who are loyal to both the APC and Mr. Amaechi would not give in to the pressure like their Adamawa counterparts.
Nyako impeachment: PDP cautions APC against inciting the people
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has warned the All Progressives Congress, APC, to desist from making comments that will incite Nigerians.
The PDP’s statement followed developments trailing the impeachment of former Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako.
In a statement signed by the PDP’s national publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh, the party said, “Our attention has been drawn to yet another inflammatory address by the National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun wherein he resorted to wild and unfounded allegations to cause confusion and incite the people against the President, the PDP and institutions of government.
“While we do not wish to join issues with a party that has become notorious for falsehood, deceit and blackmail, we wish to alert Nigerians that this is part of the orchestrated plot by the APC to discredit and blackmail institutions of government, particularly the legislature, the citadel of democracy and stronghold of the will of the people and ultimately set the stage to destabilize the polity.
“We note that this onslaught against the legislature is not spontaneous.
“Nigerians may indeed recall the vicious attack on the National Assembly early this year wherein the APC also raised a false alarm that federal lawmakers were
being induced with millions of dollars to defect to the PDP.
being induced with millions of dollars to defect to the PDP.
“We invite Nigerians to note the anti-democratic and anti-Nigeria actions of the APC.
“Indeed, never in the history of this country has an opposition constituted itself into a rebellion against our dear nation and its corporate existence”.

Osun 2014: Omisore Afraid of His Shadows - APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has
accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in
Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, of deploying masked gunmen as
security men during his ongoing electioneering for the August 9 election
in the state.
The party wondered why uniformed or plain-cloth policemen as well as State Security Service (SSS) personnel are suddenly not good enough for Omisore.
In a statement issued yesterday by its National Publicity
Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the only reason Omisore
could have resorted to hiring ‘ninjas’ for protection is because he is
afraid of his own shadows.
It wondered how a man who wanted to rule a state would be afraid to
move freely among the same people whose votes his is canvassing, saying
the PDP candidate should emulate the state Governor Rauf Aregbesola, who
is barely distinguishable from the ordinary citizens of the state.
‘’Every month, Aregbesola leads the people of the state in a jogging exercise on the streets, during which he mixes freely with them. Not once has a ‘ninja’ been spotted behind him in the name of security.

APC decries delay to release Permanent Voter Cards
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has decried the delay in
distributing the permanent voter cards (PVCs) ahead of the August 9
governorship election in Osun State.
Its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a statement in Lagos yesterday, warned that the delay might be a ploy to disenfranchise voters.
“INEC has been painfully slow in processing the permanent voters cards and one can only hope that the electoral body is not doing this deliberately to disenfranchise voters, especially in opposition strongholds.
“The slow processing of the permanent voter cards has in particular hit the Central Senatorial District of the state and has affected those who had registered as well as those who registered this year,” it said.
APC said INEC has continued to tell those who throng its offices in the state that the cards are not ready, without giving an indication of when they will be ready for collection.
“If INEC has no diabolical plan, then it should speed up the processing of the permanent voter cards. We say this based on the reported announcement by the REC in Osun State that whoever does not possess a permanent voter card will not be allowed to vote in the August 9 election,” the party said.
It urged INEC to maintain its neutrality and ensure it does not do anything that can affect the credibility of the commission or the integrity of the election.
APC recalled that a few days before the Ekiti governorship election, INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega had told stakeholders that the commission would use colour-code ballot papers to ensure that ballots meant for one local government are not taken to another.
“However, not only did INEC not use colour-coded ballot papers in the Ekiti election, it never felt the need to explain its sudden volte-face. This is a blow to the integrity of INEC and we hope it won’t be repeated,” the party said.
The APC has raised the alarm over a multi-pronged strategy by the federal authorities to skew the election in Osun State in favour of the PDP, just as they allegedly did in Ekiti State last month.
According to the party, the dubious strategy by the federal authorities involves using the military and other security agencies to lock down the state, days ahead of voting as well as an alleged plan to starve the state of funds so it cannot meet its obligations.
“Whereas Ekiti was locked down about three days to the election, indications are that Osun will be locked down at least a week before the state’s poll, while the security agencies will again be used to harass, intimidate and arrest opposition politicians just as they did with impunity in Ekiti.
“We are raising the alarm now so the world can see that any election can only be described as free and fair if the entire process is transparent and not skewed in favour of any of the parties. We insist that election is a process, and that whatever happens on election day is only, but a part of the whole.
“Therefore, we demand a level-playing field for all the candidates before, during and after the Osun election. We reject any plan to use the military and other security agencies to lock down the state and to harass, intimidate and arrest opposition members.
We call on local and international observers to take note of these and other anomalies ahead of the Osun poll,” it said. (Nation)

Osun PDP Governorship Pry Election: Omisore’s Emergence, Good For APC - Osun APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the emergence of Senator Iyiola Omisore as the gover
norship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the August 9 gubernatorial election as a good omen for the APC.
The APC said Omisore’s emergence made victory easier for the party, because the PDP has a candidate that lacks pedigree, credibility, responsibility and focus.
According to the APC in a press statement signed by its Director of Research, Publicity and Strategy, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, on Sunday, the people of the state do not want a candidate with questionable character.
The APC described the primary election that produced Omisore’s candidature as typical of a party, which ground norm for political engagement is gangsterism.
Oyatomi said Omisore’s emergence was not unexpected, as his co-aspirant had to withdraw from the race because of the alleged threat from Omisore and his loyalists.
