Oshiomhole Condoles With Benin Monarch Over Death Of Wife

Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole on Tuesday condoled with the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa, on the death of his wife, Queen Esther.

Governor described the death of the queen as painful but, however, said that she had only gone to answer the call of the Supreme God. The governor said no individual had any reason to question God’s Authority.

He described the monarch’s late queen as a woman who carried her duties with every sense of responsibility and humility, and brought pride to the cultural heritage of the royal palace.

He, therefore, urged the monarch and his household not to despair, as she had only gone to rest with her Maker. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor was at the palace with members of the state executive council, as well as some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state.

NAN also reports that Queen Esther Erediauwa passed on, on Saturday in Benin, at the age of 75. In another development, Oshiomhole has directed the contractor handling the rehabilitation of the Upper Forestry road project to expedite action and ensure the completion of the project before the end of February.

The governor, who gave the directive in Benin on Tuesday when he inspected the level of work at the site, noted that since the drainage work on the road had commenced, the work shouldn’t take time to be completed. He also inspected the level of work at the Upper Mission road axis of the state capital, where the road was already in the asphalting stage. (leadership.ng)
